Since I had a lot of things going on at school at the same time as my favorite fashion week was going on, I never got the time to do a top 4 as I did with NYFW and LFW. But as I always say: Better late than never! To catch up at the lost I have gathered all my favorite shows, bags, shoes, details and beauty trends from Paris Fashion Week.
WOW, there was some (and with some I mean too many) beautiful shows this time. As almost every time the designer 'Who Knows What Women Want' makes me wanna own every single look and there is no secret that Céline was my no.1 favorite. Phoebe Philo showed us a new side of Céline this time. The collection was sexier, it was glamorous and yet it had the lied back touch à la Philo. But Phoebe Philo wasn't the only designer showing of some magical work. After one year Nicolas Ghesquière still surprises. This time the 1970s was long gone and Ghesquière showed us maybe what he knows best: The future. In my eyes 'his' future looks very bright. Another designer that outdid himself this fashion week is Christopher Lemaire. Lemaire showed his first collection post-Hermés, which made it extra intriguing to see what he has been hiding in his sleeve. The result? Well, I would say pure perfection. The new Lemaire is more dangerous, more sexy and less melancholic.
When it comes to the bags there are a lot of things going on in the industry. It seems like there are no rules. Céline (shocking), LV and LOEWE showed the bags that caught my eyes the most. We're talking different shades of nude, red and tangerine. The bags were both small (with knots this time) and oversized with a modern touch. Other than this there is one thing you need to know: Find your oversized bags. This season you should be able to pack your whole life in them!
What can I say. There were some hardcore shoeporn on the catwalk in Paris. Stella McCartney's sling backs really made my knees week. The perfectly bowed heel and the dark burgundy makes this shoe THE perfect go-to heel. But McCartney's sling backs weren't the only ones getting my attention. With her patent red sling back with block-cone heel and pointed toe, Miuccia Prada made me reconsider investing in a pair of red patent heels – high or low, I don't care. A pair of red patent heels are on the way! As always Phoebe Philo also knows how to make me drool and her crocodile cone heel don't even need to be commented.
Details, details, details – it's all about the details and there was a lot of them on the catwalk. Because of Clare Waight Celler I want my pants a couple of cm too long so I can fold them up like seen on Chloé's runway. A laid back detail that can be quite elegant when used with a pussy bow blouse! Talking about elegant; the one detail that literally made me go trough my belt-box is LV's tiny chain belt. You can read more about my thoughts on this belt here. It seems like I for once in my life really have something for the elegant details and Elie Saab's golden bullet earrings can take a look from a zero to a hundred in a second – actually I think I've already found a great copy cat worth investing in from H&M.
And last but not least here are three beauty trends to turn to. This fall you don't need to spend time and energy annoying over the baby hairs. According to Stella McCartney you should just let them live their own life and I couldn't agree more. It gives you a fresh and young look and who doesn't want that? Speaking of natural hair there are many ways to make it look natural and if baby hairs isn't your thing Chloé's natural waves is definitely something worth trying out – or maybe you're just lucky enough to wake up to those waves. For me natural is a keyword when it comes to beauty and therefore there is no surprise that one of my favorite makeup looks for fall is Isabel Marant's non-makeup look; sharpened cheekbones, swiped laches and a bit enhanced eyebrows.Follow me on Bloglovin, Instagram and Twitter.
