the news catch-up

Over 30 years after starting his business, the designer who doesn't do anything on anyone's schedule but his own,
has decided introduce a fragrance – a launch other designers consider a early stage move of the brand-building
process. Azzedine Alaïa's design has surprised us many times out of the regular ready-to-wear schedule, like for
example when is showed off his spring 2015 collection to a selected crowd in Paris (if you don't remember the
craftsmanship no one else than Alaïa can achieve, you should check it out here!), but what can we expect now that
we're not longer talking design? Well, the black glass bottle with a top that mimics a spool of gold thread is definitely
design, but the Alaïa Paris scent will stay a secret till it hits stores – which, as we know, will be when Alaïa himself
feels is the right moment. Until then, think about "the smell of cold water falling on hot chalk" as the perfumer Marie
Salamagne described to The New York Times.
