So: The fashion moth is long gone, but I'm not done with them yet. I have still two to go and next up is Milan. Better
late than never, right? Okey, I've been using that one a lot lately, but here you go. My top 4 shows from Milan:
Disciplined, rigorous and precise is the three words Vogue.com uses to describe Jil Sander's SS16 collection and
I couldn't have said it better myself. The sharpness matched with the scantly dressing makes this collection a
wearable choice for spring/summer. Loose pants in light materials, bare shoulders and jackets that you can throw
over anything and look super chic – the collection is full of lovers, and I especially wouldn't mind the looks
above. Just look at those silhouettes!
Triangular, asymmetric and huge is not really my thing, but there is something about the way the looks are
put together in a sophisticated yet playful way at Marni, that makes me reconsider this statement. Maybe it
also have something to do with the material mix – satin and wool? – that adds the right amount of harmony to
the 'chaos'? I'm not quite sure, but it works. Not to mention the details; the slicked hair, the statement earrings
(which we'll see a lot more of!) and the oversized bags with contrast straps. Different, but woman-friendly after all.
Buoyant grace is the right word to use speaking in terms of Salvatore Ferragamo's spring/summer collection.
Warm-weather-suitable-leather and active wear dresses were given a elegant and modern touch – perfect for
the busy working woman that love looking flawless even though she's always running around. Favorites are
definitely the midi-length sundresses in lofty cotton and the loose fitted leather culottes, both suitable for hectic
everyday. And of course it's impossible not giving some attention to the drop pearl earrings. MUST-HAVES!
This minimalistic yet sporty Sportmax collection, with a dash of the 60's, will be one of those collections
that will go from the catwalk to the stores and from the stores to our wardrobes in the nearest future. I'm thinking
for instance the short jacket with round contrast pockets, the wide sailor pants and the bell sleeved shirts – classics
with a maritime touch that will be a real hit next season, both matched and separate. And the bags, well they don't
need to be commented, just give me one (please?).
